This course explains how chlorine is used, it's hazards, and safe work practices for using and responding to incidents involving chlorine.
A 2008 update includes information about chlorine as it can be used as a weapon of mass destruction (WMD), and updated placard and labeling content. Because chlorine can be found in most rural and urban areas today, hazardous atmospheres can easily exist.
Chlorine also focuses on emergency response, including case studies of accidents, leaks, fire situations, and more. Learners will discover effective ways to manage victims.
TOPICS This course presents interactive instruction covering the following topical areas
How Chlorine is Used • Physical properties of chlorine • Industrial uses • Chlorine in warfare • Chlorine and terrorism
Hazard Properties • Combustion • Health hazards • Reactivity hazards
